About Me

My name is Christopher Umina.  I’m currently a student at Wentworth Institute of Technology (and don’t hope to be one for much longer).  I’m deeply interested in computing, mostly in terms of server systems (namely making use of the FreeBSD operating system).

I made this site because I didn’t really have too much stuff come up when I Googled my name.  I feel at some point everybody on Earth should have a personal home page as a way to explain who they are, what they do, and a way to make sure you put your best foot forth when somebody Googles you.

I work at a nuclear software firm near Boston, MA as a systems … guy.  I constantly butt heads with commonly used hardware and software and hope to write about my encounters with most of them as I find things I should remember.  I suppose that could also be considered a reason for me to make this web site.

I help run an IRC network called Void Networks in my spare time.  It doesn’t really have a set purpose, but at least in my case it connects me to some talented people in the world of being a systems admin.  I also frequent the EFNet Network help channels (mostly #freebsdhelp).

Thanks for checking out the site, and I hope you enjoy it.
